The DOJ didnt start handling it (eg, searching for more documents) until this weekend. They have had months.  So, public knowledge is what led to the documents being secured and protected. [/quote]

Upon looking through a timeline, it appears that the DOJ actually never did a search and instead relied on Biden's personal attorneys, who are not cleared, to conduct the searches.  So it's worse than I initially understood. They appear to be just waiting for whatever Biden's counsel feeds them.
