Ditto. Same internal path for me. I mean, they aren’t wrong and never were.

Even still: I’m genuinely shocked at the Uvalde police. Genuinely. I assumed that people who flock to positions that let you carry guns...want to carry guns, and have active fantasies about engaging with bad actors. I know myself. I know that’s never been for me, that I don’t have that temperament to carry a weapon without endangering myself or other innocents. It never occurred to me until yesterday that police, in a group, with arms, would just wait. It truly never occurred to me. [/quote]
