Because they have children who have been traumatized and coerced. Because they have family members injured or killed by an experimental biologic. Their kids have been forced to breathe their own CO2 and not play with their friends or see their teachers' faces. Because outside of snowflake DC, there is an actual country with values people feel are worth defending. You belittle truckers with your multiple overpriced. degrees, yet your common sense and ability to survive is 100% dependent on truckers. If you think human-delivered cargo and logistics transport are going away anytime soon, then you’ve never met a personal injury lawyer. Because the first time some upstart delivery company’s automated semi truck malfunctions and creates a $500M accidental death settlement, it’s over.

Doesn’t matter that humans cause accidents all the time - what will matter is “the greedy delivery company used robots to operate its tractor trailers to save paying a trucker $80k/yr, and now little Larlo is dead. So now the company has a punitive judgement against it for half a billion dollars. The end.”
