You will older kids are so lucky. I hope you realize that those of us with kids too young to be vaccinated continue to need you all to mask to protect our kids. My 3 year old in DCPS shouldn't be sacrificed because your kids are tired of wearing a mask. I masked for your kids, you should mask for mine.
Please speak for yourself. I also think people with older kids are lucky, for a variety of reasons, but partly because their children were able to attend PK and K without masks, quarantines, and other pandemic-era features of ECE education. Also, because I can read, I know my preschooler’s risk from Covid is ridiculously low. Also, because I see it, I know my child’s class is so-so (at best) at mask wearing, most are wearing thin cloth masks. You are welcome to send your 3yo to school in a K95 forever, I don’t care. I want my kid to be able to see and hear her classmates faces and words. I want her teacher to be able to hear her. I am ready to get rid of the mask mandats for PK now. These kids already get tested once a week and stay home with symptoms. It is enough.
