I wish this were true, but the real answer is that people are just that stupid.

And it's not confined to the GOP, they're just the ones evil enough to weaponize it. I live in a heavily democratic but also very undereducated neighborhood (think Trayon White's constituency) and sometimes it's painful to hear the idiotic things my neighbors believe. I have absolutely no doubt that if the media that they consume started pushing the same kind of us-vs-them political conspiracy nonsense that FOX and OANN does that many of them would end up just as brainwashed and radicalized as the Q and Trump loons. The difference is that governments, especially state & local but also federal, really have conspired against blacks throughout American history, but governments haven’t and don’t conspire against the paranoid white groups. They have always been favored by US governments, but they think they are oppressed if the government does not serve only them. [/quote]
