Competitive colleges want to see Calculus in Senior year at tge latest if you want to go into engineering. I'll say it again, Virginia is not preparing these kids for success or even for STEM careers if they implement this! So foolish.
Yep, for those that want to go into engineering. What is that about 5-10% of the student body?
The quoted text above is INCORRECT. Stop pushing misinformation.
You (either single or plural you, I don't know) keep pushing the idea that tracking elimination via VMPI is misinformation. I would like you to provide a citation or source for your statements. James Lane's vacuous assertions in the Washington Post don't count - graphics from VMPI presentations do.
The quote above (that I removed because it was incorrect) included "everyone is in the same math class until 11th grade, no algebra 2 untill 11th grade, no exceptions--for anyone!" This is absolutely incorrect. Are you really trying to dispute that?
It is possible though that before about April 22 it wasn't incorrect. It is pretty clear that now it is. But to pretend that VMPI was for sure never advocating for detracking is at a minimum disengenuous. We don't know that, and there is evidence they were in at least 2 school districts in VA.
GMAFB. The deleted quote above went far beyond "advocating for detracking". And it is clearly wrong when it was bumped up recently.
