For Dr. Biden’s outfit, I did wonder about the sparkles and the fit. She is in great shape, but her outfit was a bit tight. It occurs to me that she was put in some kind of bulletproof-ish garb underneath her dress - at the last minute - therefore making everything fit awkwardly. Props to her for walking around in those heels all day, though!
Former lingerie salesperson here. My first thought was that she needed a better bra—one that minimizes a bit. Her bra looked pointy, which when coupled with slight hunching (probably due to the cold), contributed to the coat’s poor fit. I like her—and am happy that a fellow academic is First Lady—but this was my quick thought when she came out.
The coat seemed to cause issues. I saw someone helping her button it and I saw later it was unbuttoned toward the bottom. Oh, well. Humanizing.
PP here, yes the placement of that button combined with pointy bra created the ill fit.
She probably hadn't tried on the whole outfit with a kevlar vest beforehand. You could sometimes see when she walked a thick line across her pelvis area that must have been the bottom of a vest.
