Does anyone think he’ll even sign a bill adding stimulus checks to the existing deal? Of course not! He wants to renegotiate the entire deal “for the people” my ass. It’s laughable! Come on, expose the fraud. People are not grasping what is going on—they are looking at this and saying “oh he wants a better deal”. No that’s not what he wants. He wants to stay in power, and if he can’t, he wants to inflict maximum damage on his way out. Get it through your heads.
I don't think anyone thinks he's doing this for the people. They tried to frame it like that until it became clear that he was protesting his own spending choices. Dumb ass didn't realize that he requested that spending and spoke without thinking. Now he's rhetorically stuck.
I think some people do, and I think others think they are being clever by “calling his bluff” and moving to pass something that meets his fake demands. When will they learn. Don’t negotiate with him.
It's not really negotiating because the Dems actually want the bigger number. Pelosi is going to pass a bill so she can hand it off to the Senate and say "Here Republicans, you now have both kinds of relief. Talk amongst yourselves and do something FFS". And every Republican is going to have to go on the record as to which they support.
