I don't think anyone thinks he's doing this for the people.  They tried to frame it like that until it became clear that he was protesting his own spending choices.  Dumb ass didn't realize that he requested that spending and spoke without thinking.  Now he's rhetorically stuck.[/quote]

It's not really negotiating because the Dems actually want the bigger number.

Pelosi is going to pass a bill so she can hand it off to the Senate and say "Here Republicans, you now have both kinds of relief.  Talk amongst yourselves and do something FFS".  And every Republican is going to have to go on the record as to which they support.[/quote]
