If Jealous is governor and Elrich is MoCo exec, there is less than zero chance amazon comes here. It will be extremely tough to draw any other new business here and long odds in keeping the few businesses that are still remaining. The higher earning and upper middle class residents will be forced to keep shouldering more and more of the burden with fewer benefits in the name of social justice and they too will start moving across the river. This is not speculation. This is what’s been happening the past decade or so based on all recent studies of the county’s economics (stagnant at best, sharply declining at worst) and demographics (newer residents are less wealthy than residents leaving the county). The only question was: are we going to continuing the policies that led to this, and perhaps even double-down on them with an Elrich/Jealous combo? [/quote]
