It is patently ridiculous to shut down the government with all of its ramifications just because the Democrats insist on amnesty for 800K DACA recipients who illegally entered the country! Democrats should drop the issue and focus on something more tangible to the majority of the US population. Cost of prescription drugs? Improved transportation infrastructure? Subsidized STEM degrees? Paying teachers more? Any takers? [/quote]
I agree. Why not focus on an issue (or issues) that would benefit Americans? The ones you mention are excellent. I'd start with subsidizing STEM degrees, as our country is falling further and further behind other developed nations. And definitely - something needs to be some about prescription drug prices. But threatening to shut the government to better the lives of people brought here illegally (and who have already benefitted as a result) is just the wrong priority.
