You mean there aren't apartments that rent for $4,000 or $5,000 a month? A family earning $200,000 should be able to afford that. My sister lives on an income of $160,000 (combined with her husband, no kids), but they live in Brooklyn and commute into Manhattan. Very nice 2-bedroom apartment, overlooking the river. She never mentioned any subsidy, though, and she would have told me.[/quote]
