Who are the top coaching staffs in 6A today?
1) Madison 2) Oakton 3) Battlefield 4) Cosby 5) Robinson 6) South Lakes
Key word: coaching. I see a few who don’t know how to coach. They just happen to be surrounded by decent players. Please retire, we beg you.
Unsure if you’re talking about Robinson or Madison here? Madison did well this year, obviously, but at times it felt like they were being out coached and only got by because they had talented players (JMU player + others) I’m specifically thinking about their losses to Battlefield& SL and OT district championship win vs Oakton. What will Madison look like next year with lesser talent?
Agreed. Any coaching staff that uses running sprints immediately after a game they won as a punishment (and it was caught on the NFHS live stream) shouldn’t be listed on the top 1 million coaching staffs let alone be ranked #1. Madison got out coached by BF and South Lakes staff this season hands down. Frankly, South Lakes out coached them the last 2 seasons. Against their only win versus Yorktown this season in the Regional Finals the Warhawk players won that game not the coaches. If the Oakton coach paid attention to his players and the game instead of the Warhawk fans, they would have beat Madison too.
These comments are hilarious to me. Bleacher coaches are always undefeated. Here's a Newsflash - It's always the players that win the games. It is the coaches job to get the players prepared and in the right mindset to win. If running sprints after a lackluster performance is a way a coach feels is the best way to motivate or inspire their team, then have at it. (Even if, gasp, it was caught on a livestream!) I guess the only way to tell if it was an effective coaching move would be to see how the team responded. Oh yeah, they went on to win the Region and reach the State final. Maybe the coach knows how to handle the girls on the team.
At first I was curious who did this, but then I realized it wasn’t Robinson because they didn’t win jack shiet. #incompetent coaching #talented girls
