lol ECNL parents are way more intense than what i'm used to. My 2011 will be joining a new ECNL team in the fall and I'm nervous.
All you have to do is jump online and constantly comment about how ECNL is the best and every other League is terrible. Don't ever mention that the team your kid plays on hasn't won their last 5 games. Stick to the narrative + ride the teams that win coat tails. If you beat another team comment online over and over how bad they are for losing. Make sure you call the other parents "daddy" lot. Get blown out at national ECNL events by West Coast and Texas teams. Follow above and you'll fit right in. ;-)
lol guess I won't fit in.
Stick to what you feel is right. In 5 years if your kid makes it all the way, the ECNL/GA madness won't matter anymore. General FYI, my experience is that the better ECNL club/team parents are generally very nice. They talk about their kids club or team first and league second. Usually all they want to do is play against equivalent talent level teams (regardless of league). The terrible ECNL club/team parents talk about league first and the team or club they play for second. For obvious reasons. What I'm saying might not make much sense now but it will soon.
