Good god the Holton parents so delusional its embarrassing.
I was thinking same for SSSA parents who think that team is unbeatable - it was a 3 point game.
I dont think the SSSAS parents are like that. If you attend local high school girl lacrosse games you will notice that the SSSAS parent are some of the most chill on the side lines. They are also well-aware that this year's team, and next year's team, are some of the weakest teams SSSAS has fielded in lacrosse in years, maybe ever. I guess SSSAS fell down a few years in recruiting. Its bound to happen when a program has been so good for so long. Its still the best team in the ISL, well unless Visi manages to beat them this year which may very well happen. BI, which is in the WCAC, is very likely to beat them again (and by a wide margin for the first time) this year in the VA State championship. All that said about SSSAS, this isn't actually about them. Its about Holton and how with very little reason, and certainly no history, the Holton parents have been getting on this forum and crowing about their lax team. Its laughable. Yes, this year should be a good year for the team. But its not a reason to act like your program is comparable to the great teams in the ISL that have made the top 20 nationally, often more than once. Holton has never been a top ranked team nationally, not even close. Sure that could change one day but it hasn't yet and wont this year either. SSSAS on the other hand has been in the top 20 nationally for years. Visit has been in the top 20 a few times, and BI has been a nationally top team every year for the past 5 years or so. Lets see Holton achieve anything close to any of those schools before they act like their lax program is great.
There is no reason that girls lacrosse can only be dominated by two teams and I think that's the point here. Why can't Holton get excited that their team is strong and want to continue to build on that? I understand that SSSA and Visi want it to always be a given that it's a two-team race but that can change in the same way that boys lacrosse has changed over the years. No reason to tell a team of hard working athletes that they are not allowed to be excited, even if you don't enjoy a change to status quo.
