I wonder what the comments would change. It's obvious to anyone reading them with a critical eye that there are a lot of "false flag" posts where, for example, someone will come on and say they strongly support Boundary Change X because in reality they actually just really oppose Boundary Change Y. Neither BRAC members nor anyone else have any way to verify the bona fides of those leaving comments.
The School Board is supposed to make these decisions on what is best for the system. It is not best for the system to be sending kids long distances to full schools when there are schools nearby with seats.
Consistency in pyramid is best, so you’re not right.
Once a move happens, the new school can remain consistent for all students going forward. That’s a stupid argument to justify staying at a school that is far away and you know it. Arguing to stay at a further away school is actually a great way to threaten the stability. If you listen to the most recent school board meeting, they talked about the boundary review process being iterative and how they’re not going to solve every problem in this first round. Which means they’re going to keep looking at things and tweaking them down the road. Might as well move to a closer school now, and reduce the likelihood of being moved in the future. Grandfather in the kids for whom stability is important, and be done with it.
