We are all speculating on the possibilities, none of us know more than the authorities, etc.

This is my guess:
JR walked in, spent a few minutes communicating with BB (pretending to be CB) to okay whatever role play setup JR thought was happening.  He came upstairs and saw CB bloodied and unconscious, turned to flee and was immediately shot.  [/quote]
