I love how upthread when the judge is scolding Baldoni lawyers and things and throwing out his suit people were like he will never work again! Justin is done! Career ruined! And now as soon as Blake is on the other side of it, and actually there’s a ton more press because there is definitely more click bait from finding out her sexual harassment claims are gone, it’s like nobody cares. Nobody’s paying attention to this. Sorry, but a ton of mainstream media is paying attention to this. Celebrities actually want people to care in a good way and that’s just not what is happening right now. Nobody cares if Blake lively never stars in a movie again but I’m guessing she does. Nobody cares if nobody buys a Blake Brown beauty product again, but I’m betting she cares. Nobody cares about Taylor’s wedding guest list but I’m guessing she’s pissed she’s not on it.
Dp, I’ll go a step further. It matters some what the public thinks of Blake but much more what Hollywood decision makers think. Regardless of the merits of the litigation, everyone now knows that Blake thinks it’s appropriate not to sign a contract and then use that as leverage throughout the course of production to get her way, and that she will make ridiculous demands (see her own words in her letter for producer credit). Now she is also known as someone who will tie up everyone’s lives and force them to pay attorney’s fees to defend meritless claims. And she has no qualms about filing fake lawsuits to improperly get discovery without notice, or going to the NY Times and attempting character association. No matter what happens with respect to the retaliation claims, her career will be limited to self funded projects going forward for these reasons.
