Oops meant with :27 left in the video you can see it..so about a minute and a half in
Yes indeed - there is the gun right there - just as the police have said all along. In contrast, the family claims there never was a gun; that he only had a book. They are liars, obviously. Everyone can see the gun laying right there on the ground next to him. And the police asked him over and over. His wife asked him over and over, speaking of which: The new video (filmed by the wife and released by her) has audio of her saying: "KEITH, DONT DO IT!" "KEITH KEITH KEITH - DONT YOU DO IT!" What is she telling him not to do? This was not an unlawful use of force from what I've seen. And again: THE OFFICER IS BLACK.
I can't see a gun. Moreover, the poster to whom you are replying now appears to believe the object is a glove (which is consistent with what I saw in the video of the black policeman dropping at least two black flexible objects on the ground). The video demonstrates that the police did nothing to deescalate the situation. Even if Scott had a gun, the state is open carry. The police acted very poorly in this situation. The wife was right there telling them that Scott suffered from traumatic brain injury. They could have used her to help get him out of the truck. We have to expect more from our police officers. Both officers themselves and the public would be safer if training emphasized how to avoid escalating incidents to the point where force is used. We have seen that both in this situation, in Tulsa, and even with the girl who was pepper-sprayed in Hagerstown.
Exactly which makes the race of the officer irrelevant. Wouldn't matter if it was an Arab woman wearing a hijab who shot him - if she's a poorly trained police officer incapable of or unwilling to deescalate situations then he'd still be dead and people would still be pissed off at the police. (My bad ain't mean to jump on your post Jeff just appreciate the point made)
