I find it really ironic that the folks on here defending TS Are recalling her awkward and geeky persona when she first started in country, and defend her by that standard. TS has made a *very* successful career on skewering people in her lyrics, while playing the doe eyed victim, even since the days of "Mean". The only difference between her and Kanye is he has the parts to name names, where TS just puts in coy little clues in her liner notes. I respect Taylor and have a lot of her music - but people need to understand that she is not the cookies and puppies persona that her very clever marketing and PR team would have everyone buy into. Some of her lyrics are quite pointed and designed to be cruel (Dear John, anyone? Better than Revenge?). But, unlike Kanye, she posts enough cheery stuff in IG and the like that people give her a pass on it for some reason.
Taylor's lyrics have never named actual people (at least that I recall). She has said that the Mean song was directed at harsh critics and unfair criticism. I think it's fair to say that her songs are inspired by relationships and her own experiences. But if you think about it that is the case with most artists and most songs. I don't think that she has ever tried to destroy another person through her music. She isn't like that. But she is a writer and she writes about what she knows. And right now she's going through the ups and downs of dating, romantic distress, etc. They all do that.
You're so busy getting into a tizzy defending her, rather than having a discussion, that your reading comprehension is failing. I never said she named people - I credited Kanye for having the balls to name people. TS likes to do things like put cutesy hints in her liner notes so everyone who reads pop media knows exactly who the song is about, but sure still gets to play the doe eyed victim and claim it's just speculation. Interesting that you give a pass to someone who would write "She's not what you think/ she's an actress/ but she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress". Yep, no ill will there. And I suppose you'll defend Dear John, too? Again, I'm a TS fan, but I have to give Kanye kudos for at least being authentically who he is and owning that.
I have no idea who that actress on the mattress is supposed to be. And I think many of us have a "Dear John" in our lives. Kanye can own that awful song that HE wrote and that video too. Those belong strictly to him and they are strictly HIS doing. Not Taylor's fault.
I don't think he feels bad about the song or the video. And no one is blaming Taylor for the song's existence (although I assume that that is why she back pedaled, when she realized the song wasn't exactly 'on brand' for TS). It seems that Kim feels angry that her husband tried to do something right by taylor, she seemed amenable, he did what he said he was going to do and then she lied about it to make it seem like he was bullying her. The actress is WIDELY known to be Camilla Belle. Just like Bad Blood is WIDELY known to be about Katy Perry. Come on dude any Swift fan this obsessed knows EXACTLY who the songs are about.
Hasn't Katy Perry sort of laughed WITH Taylor about that Bad Blood video? I really don't think it made Katy look bad at all. And I think that most women can relate to some of the back stabbing nonsense fighting between women. Taylor just put it into words beautifully and that video is actually pretty amazing.
No. You are officially delusional. You can like and respect someone and not think that everything they do is amazing
Don't bother with her pp. She's a delusional Swiftie. She will gladly eat up whatever marketing froth Taylor Swift throws her way.
