I thought we were done here.... Did you have to do that?
Signed, one of the long-term non-Muslim posters, not going to convert, but wondering why you felt you needed to do that
I am a Muslim and I am glad she brought this problem up. Its abominable. But I would like perspective and fairness. - what percentage of Muslims are doing this -is this representative of the religio - is this confined to certain areas, groups
I posted those links as another view and simply because those are some reasons some people are converting. I didn't say it's the only reason all people convert. Since the thread was titled "why some people convert to Islam", this seems appropriate. I don't know the numbers of Muslims doing this as there are not conversion records and I certainly do not think it is representative of the entire religion, it is representative of how some practice. There are people who practice Islam differently- some practice more peacefully and others not so much. It is indeed a problem and I don't think it's confined to certain areas, just more prevalent in certain areas. The UK, India, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Malaysia, Nigeria, Egypt, Sudan are many areas where this is happening. What style/form/groups of Islam those engaged in these practices are, I have no idea. I have nothing against Islam as a whole, I do think there should be more public outrage on the part of those that practice peacefully towards those that seem to have hijacked the religion and cause terror across various regions of the globe. I do wish those that practice peacefully and want to coexist with various religions and cultures had more control over the religion worldwide. For the poster who considers it lazy for me to post links and thinks I should instead summarize, here you go-- Forced conversion is one reason why some people convert to Islam.
