Also, an IQ is an IQ ... it's not like it's going to change substantially with practice... nor should it. Has anyone here ever found vast differences retaking a WISC?
We saw a vast difference in WISC FSIQ scores in a "before and after" scenario for my DS with ADHD. The first time he did the WISC (at age 6 as part of an evaluation for ADHD and anxiety) he did okay but his working memory and processing speed were in the average range. Two years later we were working with a psychiatrist to add medication (after two years of play and talk therapy) and DS had much higher working memory and processing speed scores. The verbal and perceptual reasoning scores were roughly the same, though.
I just looked up the scores: Before therapy/meds: Verbal Comprehension 152 Perceptual Reasoning 131 Working Memory 107 Processing Speed 100 After therapy/starting meds (2 years later): Verbal Comprehension 148 Perceptual Reasoning 135 Working Memory 126 Processing Speed 123 Both WISCs were done privately (first at Children's Medical HALP clinic, second with Diana Dahlgren).
