The WISC can be taken once a year.  So, theoretically, you could schedule a WISC for appeal and then plan for it again next May for a referral in 3rd grade, again in May 2015 in 4th grade, etc., all the way until May 2018 in 7th grade.

Niether of my children have retaken it.  The GMU student told me that it can vary by less than 10 points generally.  Interestingly, she also told me that there are portions that can be prepped and portions that cannot. My child happened to score well on the parts that cannot be prepped (working memory). I did not ask that.  She said it spontaneously.  It made me assume that other parents must ask that question.  We did not prep, not do we plan a retake.[/quote]
