Okay, now that WJ/Woodward families have their own thread to talk about this, can we make some space to hear about how Silver Spring families feel about these proposed boundaries? I'm pretty happy with it for us and our schools, and I think a lot of other neighborhoods around here are happy with it too, but I would not be surprised if Woodlin families are pissed about it (are they?). Anyone else want to share how they're feeling/what they're hearing?
We are zoned for Oakland Terrace ES. Happy that no split articulation is planned and that our middle and high school will stay the same. More concerned about the dissolution of the DCC, mainly because the regional model is going to be a disaster for several years.
Einstein doesn't have a lot of course offerings, especially stem and when this happens, there will be a reduction in students, which means a reduction in teachers and not sure what more they can take away in terms of course offerings.
Einstein has more course offerings than many other high schools.
Thanks, MCPS. "Your child will be fine."
I don't work for MCPS and I don't think kids will be "fine" given so many are graduating not proficient and reading. However, that is not because Einstein doesn't offer enough courses, they offer more courses than many other high schools. That is a verifiable fact. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/OLO/Resources/Files/2026_Reports/OLOReport%202026-2.pdf
