IAC is fraying. If one of their teams jumps ship for MAC or WCAC then maybe IAC will try to expand by picking up Heights.
My crystal ball shows the following: Prep goes independent. (Hoyas want nothing to do with the WCAC) St Stephen's joins the MAC EHS is already a member of the VISAA so they are fine. Landon, STA and Bullis join the MIAA.
Totally agree on your Prep, Landon, STA and Bullis predictions. St Stephen's is already a member of VISAA too, but think both EHS and Saints join the MAC. The bigger problem for St. Stephen's is that they not only don't have the numbers for a JV team, but early word is that they don't have enough for a squad this coming Spring. Will be interesting to see what type of team they feel like they can field with fewer than 12-15 going out for the sport.
The SSSA take is fake news. Total garbageā¦.
Fact. You may have a couple cross-over for defense or D-mid from football or wrestling in the winter for spring, but simply not enough bodies - especially no IAC-level competitive FOGO or goalie. Even if you can find and field warm bodies. Who in the IAC or VISAA can Saints really beat? Not enough boys at the school and too many sports diluting the pool. At end of day, Landon is cheaper. EHS and STA are comparable with their standard aid for recruited student-athletes. Prep is at least 10k cheaper. And Gonzaga and St. John's are at least 15k cheaper. All are more competitive and do a better job of helping get kids seen by coaches, play the best competition and get committed at schools that they aspire to. Six wins season before last. Three wins last season. Depending on scheduling, would be shocked if they can muster more than 1 or 2 wins this Spring. Saints boys lax is done.
