Okay: both are/were poorly researched, experimental surgeries designed to address mental health conditions by permanently altering body parts essential to personality, identity, and healthy functioning. They also create a cascade of physical and mental health issues that must be addressed through (usually lifelong) medical treatments. These surgeries are barbaric and will be regarded the same as lobotomies in the future. You just can't see it yet because you've been lead to believe that in order to be a Good Person, you cannot question whether removing balls and breasts of depressed teens is actually effective.
