I have disarmed patients in the emergency room.  I've taken several knives and a gun off of patients.  That's besides the point.

Cops shoot many, many people in the community who are having a mental health crisis and are not armed.  Cops are poorly trained to handle psych patients and too arrogant to admit that they aren't trained correctly. [/quote]

Well cops complain incessantly about attending any of training because they are self proclaimed experts. They are actually very good considering the low level of training they receive. It's a lot better than it used to be though. It's a cultural problem, no doubt.[/quote]
