As a federal prosecutor and Republican, no, this will not hold up in court. The warrant that the arresting agents had was not the correct warrant needed to take custody of Flores-Ruiz. It's ridiculous that they knew he would be in the courtroom that day and arrived with the incorrect warrant. That's sloppy policework and it reflects negatively on the efforts of the Administration. Once again, as has been said many times here, the correct procedures and paperwork needs to be used when deporting people. You can either want judges to follow the laws and constitution for all persons in the U.S. or you don't. And if you don't, then you must be perfectly fine when something unjust happens to you or your loved one and the court turns a blind eye. Because we all need to remember, Trump's reign is only for another 3.7 years - and then what happens? What will happen in the U.S. if the next president is a Democrat and they decide to pass sketchy EOs that all MAGA are domestic terrorists and must be deported to Venezuela or El Salvador? Trump is playing a dangerous game of revenge politics, and it is going to backfire when he and the GOP are out of power.
Two of the agents were in the courtroom to make the arrest! In the courtroom while court was in session! That is way over the line. No judge would put up with that in their courtroom.
According to the court filings that is untrue. They were in the hallway outside the courtroom. The judge exited her courtroom to confront them and directed them to the chief justice’s room and then secreted the illegal alien out the back door of her courtroom.
