In addition to the noise, that's a significant source of air pollution and is horrible for your health. ESPECIALLY so for young children.

I read the report ( uccs.ucdavis.edu/sites/g/files/dgvnsk12071/files/media/documents/CalSPEC-NRIAP-Report.pdf ). It states that these health effects (from exhaust, tire dust, etc) affect those who live within 500-600 feet downwind of major roadways, and that the effects are sufficiently mitigated by either sound walls or tree barriers, both of which exist or are under construction at Amalyn, so I don't think this will be an issue.
