For AOS and AET, even though they started to mention the lower Algebra 1 minimum to apply to please the equity crazies, everyone admitted have atleast Geometry and many with Algebra 2. Even so, the AOS math is not easy, and struggling kids return to base school, although very few. AET math is manageable.
I thought year one math was the same for both?
They are different. AOS has more math Analysis than AET. However, both AOS and AET math are integrated two year math courses. Content wise they are based on Algebra-2 trig and Precalc topics, plus a lot of Math Analysis topics blended in. Topics are introduced using elaborate problem sets with some as group projects, unlike in base school where math techniques along with practice problems are introduced using traditional sequencing.
