They hadn’t lived in the UK at all for most of their 4 years of their marriage, save for short visits last Christmas and in the spring while Sophie was filming. Their marriage was crumbling. Why would anyone in their right mind concede that it was then reasonable to establish the kids residence in the UK in perpetuity and resign ones self to seeing their kids in the summer and vacations?
