It is a ridiculous theory. 
It was not surprising that following the leak the "conservative" Justices' homes were stalked and loons demonstrated for months.  It is probably still occurring.  They didn't expect a nutcase to fly across country with the intent of assassinating one of them, but it is not surprising that it happened. 
They knew this would be a reaction because the left protests ANY thing they don't like....
So, he leaks a draft so they could be subject to death threats and months of protests?

You’re ignoring the fact that: (1) Alito is completely divorced from reality, lives in a Catholic/FedSoc bubble, and likely expected continued deferential treatment despite the monumental nature of what he did and the patently ridiculous and political way in which he did it.

Also, the right wing loves to make themselves martyrs. The hate is how they band together and convince themselves that they are right. They never once self-reflect. All the protesting is just proof to them that they did the right thing. [/quote]
