There is an old tradition in the city of Firenze for neighborhoods to compete against each other once a year, in sport themed matches. The winning neighborhood gets in the good graces of the Prince. But that would never happen here.
It reminds me of The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. Ok everyone gets one throw at Kenisngton.
Let's call it Rock Creek Hill please. Lots of us in Kensington are unaffected and uninterested since we're in the Einstein or WJ clusters, and think this debate is silly.
I'll admit, some of the posts are silly and humorous, but I wouldn't call the debate silly. Where to put the school is a perfectly legitimate debate as it directly affects the neighborhood. And think about this: some folks are not in ANY cluster, have no children and will be adversely affected anyway. I am so tired of the Montgomery County BS mantra' It's for the Children. No one wants a large over sized middle school in their midst. School are all being built over sized these days, just like houses and cars. It's disgusting, and I wouldn't want a large unsightly building in my neighborhood either.
