My kid reported that kids in her class hated coughing into masks and so would pull the mask down to cough and still not cover the mouth. Realistically who wants a gross phlegmatic mask? The poor teacher was so frustrated.

And that was the moment, as a nasty non-Covid cold spread via those uncovered coughs, I lost my last shred of faith in mask mandates. Masks theoretically work. Mandates lead to the behavior above.[/quote]
