When I hear or read “Our school doesn’t recruit”, I roll my eyes. Because I know from personal experience that they do and that athletic ability is considered in the Admissions process and possibly in the awarding of Financial Aid.

The basic problem the St Albans faces is the ratcheting up of the athletic programs at the other IAC schools. years ago only Landon cared about lacrosse and they got their players by convincing their best athletes to play the sport. Then Prep joined in. and within a few years they were competing for 8th grade talent. Then Bullis decided it wanted to be good at lacrosse.

St Albans just wants to be competitive. If they don’t recruit players, like their conference mates, they’ll fall further and further behind.
