The whining anti-vaxxer logic in this thread is quite something: Anti-vaxxer: Nobody can make me do anything!! My rights!1!1!! It's a free country!!!!! Don't trust the government!! Private businesses: Okay, we understand. Therefore we are going to require covid-19 vaccination for our customers. Anti-vaxxer: What?!?! OMG!!! OSHA will save me!!! OSHA make these private businesses do.the thing I want!!!!
You should travel more. Plenty of places in the country without masks. I was asked to put mine on three times since the beginning of the pandemic. Three times. You should have seen retired people partying in Arizona the day after the state lifted capacity restrictions. No masks, of course, all close together. I will go to a baseball game in Texas instead of California.
Yeah, that's been my experience outside of the DMV, especially in the South and Florida. I've been to Florida twice since the Governor rescinded the mask mandate. The only place I was required to wear a mask was at the airport. And even there, I took it off at the bar. There isn't going to be a national vaccine passport, since the Federal government doesn't seem to have the stomach for such a political fight. And there are many parts of the country where the people will absolutely reject a general vaccination requirement. In some places, the state government is already banning businesses from implementing such a requirement. So, that leaves just a handful of businesses that might require their patrons to be vaccinated, such as certain medical offices. I think the mistake some people on this thread are making is arguing that vaccinated people are all on the same page about imposing a vaccination requirement. I really doubt that's true. I don't care, and the vaccinated people I know don't give a damn, either.
Many colleges will require it tp attend in person. parents and students are grateful for this and do give a damn.
If the colleges drop the mask requirement and spacing after introducing the vaccination requirement then my student would be fine with that. Last year he opted for online classes after doing two weeks in mask. If it's vaccine and masks then no vaccine as online classes are still available. Classes with masks on were bad: uncomfortable and sad. Luckily religious exemptions are still allowed.
