We are scheduled to go to a Western Caribbean cruise with stops in Jamaica and Grand Cayman the first week of April. We had booked in November so prior to all of this happening. Our kids are really looking forward to this and we did not get travel insurance. We will be loosing 8k if we cancel right now. This is our first vacation in 8 years. What should we do?
I would wait to decide right before your day of departure, if canceling now versus later doesn't save you any money. Or, you could try calling the cruise to see if you can get a credit to use another time. It completely sucks!! FWIW, we are supposed to go to the Caribbean in a few weeks and we'll lose $ on flights and hotel. My kids can talk of nothing else and I don't have the heart to tell them, at this point, that it may be canceled. As of now, we are still going.
