He is still a hardliner and he’s proud to be a terrorist. He doesn’t want to be a diplomat for Hamas like Haniyeh. He doesn’t believe in the words “Western talks” or acknowledging Israel’s right to exist at all. He apparently doesn’t like the Arab countries either and don’t want them to take charge of Gaza. This makes him a wild card for the middle East but one that could serve Israel’s national interest in the short term because he makes for a good boogeyman to unite Israel.

Notice the talks are now solely between the US and Israel. It’s because Sinwar doesn’t believe in talking to the US or Israel or having to consult with either about Palestinian affairs.

It makes no sense that they are having ceasefire  “talks” without a Palestinian voice there. If he’s really at large or in a Tunnel , how is he able to backchannel communications without being intercepted?

Israel is more focused on monitoring American college students than they are on finding Sinwar[/quote]
