That’s what I truly don’t get about the Israeli war mentality or strategy. According to them, all Gazans are guilty or know something about Hamas. If that’s so, why not ask them where Hamas and the hostages are since they know alot? They’re starving and suffering. People will sell Hamas out for a loaf of bread and the promise of not being blown to bits in their sleep. It shouldn’t be a hard war if Israel had the right military IQ. They seem to think just aerially bombing everything and escalation romance will scare Hamas and kill Hamas but that isn’t working. I think what would make Hamas nervous is seeing Palestinians talking in conversation with IDF soldiers and they don’t know what they’re talking about.
The IDF shoots any Palestinian they see. If a Palestinian approaches with a white flag they are shot. Let’s say the Palestinian some how is not killed. The IDF would arrest and torture the person(and their family) because they have information on the hostages. Only someone working with Hamas would have information. This is the logic of the IDF. The other question is after what 9 months of combat in an area 1/2 the size of Fairfax county hamas is still in control and operating in the open? Does this ever end?
Arab family ties tend to be closer than Israelis so it’s not within a stretch that in a small strip like Gaza everybody knows everybody but what I don’t understand is how Israel expects to get information if the Gazans are terrified of either or both Israeli and Hamas retribution, torture, and/or execution. There’s a saying. “You get more flies with honey not vinegar”. If they want a “if you see something, say something” campaign that would work. I’m surprised they haven’t even put a bounty on Sinwars head ala OBL. It’s because The war per their own mouths Is more about destroying Gazans but not about destroying Hamas. Hamas needs to stay for as long as possible for Israel’s national interests because it does not want a Palestinian Authority Pres. Mahmoud Abbas to unite the West Bank and Gaza or for Western friendly countries like Egypt and Qatar to take over and administer. Because Hamas is non Western friendly and a pariah/sanctioned by the West for being a terrorist group, it is Israel’s best friend because it helps them avoid diplomacy. Haniyeh was getting too soft and too cozy with the American negotiators and the concept of coexistence with Israel as a partner so he had to go. Israel wanted Sinwar to take over as the head of Hamas. He’s their twin flame 🔥 in hellish murder bloodthirst
