It happens in other travel/AAU sports ALL the time and is almost the norm[/quote] DP, but I think the fees for those other sports are not as high. Some people also like that soccer isn't as bad with the daddyball stuff as those other sports. If they wanted to deal with the bro dads running things, they would sign up for baseball or basketball.
