His actions have been undoubtedly more damaging to the family. But when you write books about minimalism one year, then post pics with the Louis Vuitton bags later on (help me out, those are what, 3K a pop?) then something is awry. It’s off putting I suppose. And there is a sense that online purveyors of content are being sold simply whatever will sell. For intimate family members, it would indeed be a double standard to judge them in the same manner. But none of the people on this thread are intimate family members. They are commenting on things that may impact them personally.An affair hasn’t impacted them. But maybe buying into an image, which then later shifts like a chameleon, may have have an impact, albeit minor. [/quote]

Jen and Brandon have both been like chameleons. They’ve definitely sold an image or idea and then pivoted. It seems the ire with Jen is that she was actually good at it. Brandon couldn’t pivot when the going got tough. He self sabotaged. I just don’t get the sympathy for Brandon, who is so similar to Jen in most of the ways people complain about her here. He was cool guy preacher man dad guy. He wrote books and did speaking events, too, he just didn’t captivate. That’s on him. Why do we feel sorry for him now but hate Jen? [/quote]
