Missouri University (@Mizzou) just posted a notice of intent to hire an H-1B Strategic Communications Associate Salary: $64,000 Nobody in America was qualified for this job. [twitter]https://x.com/chrisbrunet/status/2049563774537863203?s=46[/twitter] Not a single democrat will stop this
This is part of the job description for the H-1B position that @Mizzou posted online. The claim that H-1B visas are only for highly specialized talent that no qualified American can fill is clearly a lie. [twitter]https://x.com/ustechworkers/status/2049958159679201750?s=46[/twitter]
Any of my friends and colleagues could do this job. Anyone 2 years out of college, even 1 year out. A smart American young adult of any ethnicity, of any background, so long as they’ve proved themselves a bit in college, could be easily trained to do this job. (2-3 years out could figure it out with little to no training, one year out might have to be monitored, hand holding for 3-6 months) H1b is basically ethnically choosing who this will be. Down to 1-3 countries of origin. That is wrong. Full stop.
Missouri is a red state, isn’t it? Can OP answer why the Republicans there are letting this happen?
I’m op of the thread and I’m not sure wtf you’re talking about. But this is not a Dem or Rep issue. Both sides suck on this issue.
You’re stupid. The GOP is the one currently in power. Why are you harping about Democrats?
Huh? Where am I harping? You don’t seem to understand that there are many people on this thread.
And so many people are so thick or immigrants themselves so they don’t know the history We know republicans are evil and lie and will support big business over workers The tragedy is that democrats used to be our party. They were the party of labor only a generation back. But they have abandoned workers and become just like republicans. So when people say that republicans are in power so they should repeal these programs, you are missing the forest for the trees Democrats claim that they are the party of workers, then act like it, and do what your parent democrats would have done. Stop these visa programs used by big business to replace our own children with cheaper foreign labor.
They were also the party of slavery. IMO they never really came clean on exploitation. Especially the Northern Democrats who were financing exploitation around the world for many years after the civil war. My read is the whole "civil rights" for "immigrants" (Landmark legislation were passed in the same year) exchange was nothing more than a way to drive a wedge in the American working class.
Ludicrous to compare Democrats of the 1800s to Democrats of today. Just because they share a name means nothing. If you want to keep your line of thinking, I'd encourage you to eat a latrine cake, because it's 'cake.'
