Wait… This is really out of the blue, and seems odd. I have been following this thread but haven’t chimed in, but now I really want to know more about what you mean.

DH and I have shot all the shotgun sports (skeet, sporting clays and trap) for years. I have never heard of anything like this.

Exactly which gun club are you talking about?

Also my Syren would cost about $5k to replace and hubbie’s Kolar would be >$15k. Why in the world would we ever want them out of our possession. What gun club would want to assume that liability.

Not the pp you're responding to, because they're an ignorant, paranoid person. Seconding what you said, because this isn't how guns/gun ownership works. It's literally the stupidest possible idea. What benefit would there be to any business taking responsibility for multiple owners' likely multiple firearms? The liability would be unreal.
