I'm curious what is the source of that? They make up more than 10% of the Jewish population and are an extremely important part of determining the government's agenda. They contribute nothing to Israeli society. They are welfare recipients who get paid to have a bunch of babies and settle on Palestinian land in the West Bank. The settlers are exempt  from IDF service and get free housing and stipends by the govt for literally breeding and doing nothing. Palestinians in the West Bank with work permits in Israel have to cross these settlers every day to go take a bus to work in Israel.

The settlers will regularly fight with the IDF who have to put out all the fires literally that settlers cause to Palestinians. The IDF does not want to fight a war in the WB thanks to settlers. Protecting the settlers on a Jewish holiday is the reason 10/7 was able to even happen as apparently the IDF stationed at Gaza were redirected to the West Bank to police settlers and ease tensions over there during their pilgrimage  to the Palestinian neighborhoods to view “Joseph’s tomb”.

In fact, just today the IdF tear-gassed Jewish settlers from trying to attack Palestinians near Joseph’s tomb
