My kid is at a T40, living in a college apartment and still has to have a $3K/semester meal plan. Which is down right ridiculous, but it's how they make money. Also something to do with financial aide for those that need it---if they have a "lower plan as an option" (ie. $500/semester which is more reasonable for most in an apartment), something to do with then kids cannot get FA for a higher plan. Either way its ridiculous my kid is in a 4 bed/4 bath apartment with a full kitchen (with a dishwasher) yet needs the same plan as when they were in a dorm with a tiny tiny floor kitchen for 35 people.
