Who eats breakfast at 7am on vacation??  I'm sleeping in until 9am at least.  Muffins and bagels are on the counter in their packaging.  Coffee maker pre-set to start at 8:30.  I tell guests if you want it sooner, press the On button.  [/quote]

You are really rigid in your thinking. If OP’s like me, she might make something hot or start setting out breakfast things around 7. If someone later wants to wander down at 9 and get a muffin and heat up some of the eggs I made earlier, they’re welcome to it. Why do I make hot breakfast around 7? Because my dad has been up since around 5:30 drinking coffee, and my baby wakes up around 6:30. If mom and DH want to sleep in, they are welcome to do so. Just because food is made and served at X time doesn’t mean a dinner bell is rung and all must participate.[/quote]
