I think Oakton is the team to beat this year but it's definitely not a gimme as there other good teams in the 6C and 6D regions. That is unless the Oakton JMU commit gets injured like she did last year and then it's all bets off. She's very scoutable so opponents should adjust accordingly. But she was last year's POY despite missing a chunk of games due to injuries (didn't know that was possible). Battlefield seems to get a lot of attention on this board. In reality, Battlefield is not in a competitive region and has an easy path to states. The top 5-6 teams in the combined 6C/D regions would beat them. Obviously, we'll see how this all plays out as the 2023 season progresses. Always routing for an upset or an underdog Cinderella story.[/quote]
