OP, this may help. https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2021/04/29/over-2-in-3-americans-voted-using-methods-gop-trying-to-restrict-census-data-shows/?sh=983b8b721d72 Over 2 in 3 Americans (Nearly 70%) Voted Using Methods GOP Trying To Restrict, Census Data Shows. 70% - like the GOP are shooting themselves in the foot too. But this disproprotionately impacts left leaning voters.
Meanwhile: 80% Of Americans Support Voter ID Rules https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2021/06/21/80-of-americans-support-voter-id-rules-but-fewer-worried-about-fraud-poll-finds/ I will go ahead and say it, if you are too low functioning or lazy to have a valid ID then I just don't have much sympathy for you. You need an ID to buy a gun and that is a constitutional right. You need an ID to do half the things in our daily lives. I do think IDs should be free and as easy to get as possible. I think while we are mandating free stuff like Covid tests we should mandate that birth certificates and other important documents be provided free of charge, It would be a trivial expense compare to half the stuff we are funding. ...but you should be required to show an ID to vote.
