Another possibility is that you didn't want to complete with a younger, prettier, possibly smarter, female that might attract more attention from the guys in the office. She would come in on Monday's talking about her hot dates while you would struggle to remember the last time you and your husband were intimate. She would be a daily reminder that you have aged, gained weight, slowed down, and lost your edge. Bitter indeed.
