Even a young bright eyed Mitch McConnell didn't support his racist ass. Strom Thurmond another racist switched from the Democrat party and went to the Republicans around that time as well.

Anyway, I'm fully aware that LBJ said I'll have N-words voting for Democrat for the next 200yrs. Everyone knows that LBJ was a racist that somehow found himself stuck with JFK's civil rights bill, which he was committed to and got past (and yes I know what he called the 1957 civil rights bill). The more important quote to remember from LBJ is " we have lost the South for a generation," he said after signing the 1964 civil rights act.  He knew that this bill would cause the flip.  The same flip that everyone else on DCUM has been asking you to put on your critical thinking cap to understand, or including the Wikipedia link to make it easy for you.

Speaking of critical thinking, what party do you think all those Dems who voted against the bill went to? I'll give you a hint Strom Thurmond was one of them. Point of fact he had a record breaking filibuster against the 1957 civil rights bill.
