I do appreciate and value URM students on campus. And you can’t just have a token few like at Oxford or Cambridge. There has to be a critical mass for URM students’ well being. It’s also important for my D to be exposed to people of different background, life experience, and value. I learned long time ago hatred also hurt those who hate. [/quote] You can point out discrimination and prejudice without hating or demeaning. My ire is directed towards Admission committees and people who stereotype children and young adults. We should not put up with that - ever. It doesn’t matter who it is directed against. Prejudice is just plain wrong [/quote]
